This weekend, teams across HealthPoint Pharmacy were proud to support Oesophageal Cancer Fund Lollipop Day, helping raise awareness of oesophageal cancer and the importance of early detection.

Our teams in Woods Pharmacy and Keane’s Pharmacy met customers throughout the day, shared information, and encouraged important conversations about recognising symptoms early.

Why Lollipop Day Matters

Oesophageal cancer can often develop quietly. Many early symptoms are mistaken for common digestive issues, which can delay diagnosis.

Awareness campaigns like Lollipop Day help people recognise when something may need medical attention.

Early detection significantly improves outcomes.

Know the Symptoms

It is important not to ignore persistent symptoms such as:

• Difficulty swallowing

• Ongoing heartburn or reflux

• Acid indigestion that does not improve

• Pain or discomfort when eating

• Unexplained weight loss

• Persistent cough or hoarseness
