Free HRT Available at HealthPoint Pharmacy from 1st June

Free HRT from June 1

From 1st June 2025, HealthPoint Pharmacy will provide hormone replacement therapy (HRT) free of charge for eligible women under a new Government initiative supported by the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU).

This marks a major step forward in menopause care, helping women access the treatment they need to manage symptoms like hot flushes, sleep difficulties, and mood changes.

How to access free HRT:

• If you have a medical card, you are automatically eligible.

• If you do not have a medical card, you must sign up for a Drugs Payment Scheme (DPS) card.

Getting a DPS card is free and easy:

1. Visit: www.mymedicalcard.ie

2. Click “Apply for a DPS Card”

3. Complete the short application form (you’ll need your PPS number and basic personal details)

4. You’ll receive your DPS card by post – simply show it when collecting your HRT.
